Champion Bakery Inc
was opened in 1977 as Coin Bakery by Jackson Hoo, Edson Nembhard, and Gloria Nembhard (Miss G). To better serve our customers, we moved from 224th Street on White Plains Road to 225th Street
in the same location in the Bronx.
Our company's president and founder, Jackson Hoo, has been in the bakery business for 65 years. Jackson Hoo also owns a bakery in St. Andrew, Jamaica, in the West Indies. In the mid-1970s, he brought different types of hard dough breads like mongoose, duck, crown, and alligator breads.
